CONTINUING EDUCATION

CASA volunteers are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education each year. Below are some educational resources to fulfill that requirement.

Required: 12 hours per year of continued education for active Advocates. This requirement can be met through books, movies, television shows, online training, and by attending CASA-to-CASA support groups, CASA-sponsored training, and training offered in the community.

The purpose is to ensure that volunteers stay educated and informed on issues within the juvenile dependency system and specific areas of interest that relate to their individual cases or help prepare them to work on a different type of case in the future.

Continuing Education Credit Form: When you complete an in-service opportunity outside of the Coastal Plain CASA office, please fill out the form by clicking HERE. Completing this form will allow our staff to credit you with the hours earned. Please contact Jana Barfield if you have any questions at jbarfield@cpcasa.org or call the office at 229-386-9765.
